The restaurant industry seems to always have your back. In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, we can’t help but notice the industry showing an outpouring of support and love to those affected by the storm. Restaurant after restaurant has stepped up to offer food, support and raise funds to help out.
Here’s a snapshot of some Fishbowl clients who remind us why we are so thankful to be part of this industry:
Kona Grill is donating 10% from every Firecracker Sashimi, Flamingo Roll, and Lollipop Naruto September 1st through September 4th.
Pappas Restaurants is raising funds in-store. They’ve set a goal of $1,000,000 and promised to match up to $500,000 to benefit the American Red Cross and United Way.
Del Frisco’s (Sullivan’s Steakhouse) will donate 20% of all sales from August 31st through September 4th to aid relief efforts. They’ve also set a goal of raising more than $1 million to support Houston area food banks.
Jose Andres has promised that 5% of all sales at full-service restaurants in the D.C. area on Saturday, September 2nd will go to the Red Cross.
Fago De Chao will donate $10 from every adult entrée purchased on Monday, September 4, 2017, to the Houston Food Bank.
Cuba Libre will donate $1 from every Tito’s Vodka cocktail sold in store to Hurricane Harvey aid. Tito’s has promised to match up to $10,000 of this.
Tijuana Flats will match donations made on September 6th up to $15,000 benefiting the Houston Flood Relief Fund.
FATZ cafe is collecting $5 donations for the Houston Food Bank. Upon donation, the restaurant will give you a Fried Green Tomatoes or Deviled Eggs appetizer.
Jamba Juice is fundraising to help both the Harvey victims and the Jamba locations affected by the storm to get back up and running.
And we, at Fishbowl, are doing our small part. We have supply donation bins set up at our headquarters and are asking employees to donate items to help victims.
This is just a short list of the relief and donation efforts being provided by restaurants nationwide. If one thing is for certain, it’s that this industry, among others, steps up when friends, partners, customers and guests are in need.
