Did you attend last week’s Restaurant Finance and Development Conference (RFDC)? Our CEO, Scott Shaw, was part of the panel discussing “Changing IT And Marketing Platforms In Restaurants: What You Need To Know To Stay Relevant.” If you didn’t get the chance to see him, you still have a chance to learn what he said! We sent a team of roving reporters to live tweet the conference and especially the panel.

Scott offered his insights into why the restaurant industry needs a 360 degree view of the customer –what’s generally known as customer relationship management (CRM). While it’s a mainstay of other industries, like retail and airline, the technology is still finding its way in the restaurant world. For restaurateurs, the future is all about capturing data on your current guests and using it to grow your business.

This Guest 360 approach takes you beyond loyalty. It’s the key to growing restaurant sales proactively and predictably by leveraging all of your guest data. Increasingly restaurant operators are awash with data in silos; CRM makes it possible to turn this data into actionable information that can drive a growth strategy. And as Scott points out, at that point, restaurateurs will need to excel at performance marketing to leverage the opportunity offered by the data.
